evologic - Next Scale
Images of a Transition
Microbial agents hold great promise for sustainable agriculture – but bringing them to industrial scale is anything but simple.
Evologic Technologies, founded in 2016 as a spin-off from the Institute of Chemical Engineering at TU Vienna, has focused on exactly that: cultivating microbes and formulating them so they can be transported, stored, and used in large-scale applications.
The company’s early years were rooted in research – Petri dishes, lab benches, and reactors no larger than a few liters. By 2023/24, the work had outgrown the lab: Evologic built its own production facility, complete with pilot and industrial-scale reactors, and the complex infrastructure required to run them. It was a phase of rapid change, challenges, and constant motion.
This series captures that transition:
from stepping into an empty hall, to the arrival of heavy equipment, through the chaos of installation, and finally, to a fully operating production floor. A visual account of what happens when research becomes production – and a start-up takes its next leap.
